I am Dr. Zahava Hersh, a primary care physician practicing in the heart of the Five Towns. I grew up on Long Island, and always dreamed of becoming a doctor. I have been fortunate enough to see this vision fulfilled. I love what I do, and have so much passion for my practice of medicine. My style of medicine is collaborative and patient-centric. I always look to meet my patients where they are, and guide them towards better health. I look forward to meeting you.
What is Direct Primary Care?
Direct Primary Care or DPC is an up and coming model for delivering primary health care. As a member of a DPC practice, the patient pays an affordable, transparent monthly membership fee in place of fee-for-service insurance based billing. This model removes the insurance companies from the doctor patient relationship, eliminating many of the frustrating aspects of a very broken health care system, including appointment time constraints, lengthy wait times to get appointments, and poor communication via call centers.
In Direct Primary Care, the practice is capped at a fraction of the volume than larger health care systems service. A smaller patient panel allows physicians to spend more time with their patients, providing them with better quality care. In a DPC practice you can access your physician via office visits, telehealth visits, phone calls answered by a live operator, and text messaging.
